We have three cats that can't seem to decide on where they want to be at night. Since we try to save energy at night by only heating the bedroom with a space heater, leaving the door open was not a good option. However, getting woken up every 15 minutes to let one of the cats in or out was also not an option. Enter this door closer.I installed it on the bedroom door and taped down the strike plate so that it wouldn't latch closed. It's been a couple of weeks and it still works wonderfully. Excellent product.

I use this on my bedroom door. Here's the scenario, It's 11pm at night and attempting to go to sleep. My cat decides that he wants to enter the room, I open the door and leave it cracked. After 20 minutes of roaming, he decides that he no longer wants to be in the room. He opens the door and leaves it wide open. I can now hear my roommates TV and can see the lights from the other room (on a timer). I bought this wonderful device, installed in a few easy steps. Now the cat can come and go as he pleases, the door closes automatically just perfect enough to where it's not too strong the cat can't open the door, and it's not wound too tight to where the door fully closes when he enters the room. This was a fantastic buy especially for my needs.

Now that it is nice weather, we have been spending most of our evenings outside... finding ourselves CONSTANTLY yelling "close the door" as the kids go in and out hundreds of times. When my husband said he was ordering this, I rolled my eyes. All I saw was smashed fingers. Anyway, it came in, he installed it (super fast and easy) and WE ARE OOOOBBBSSSEEEEEESSSSSEDDD!! We have ordered TWO more, one for the door out to our garage and one for the laundry room door, which I'm forever closing.... because no one wants to look at that mess!

This product solved a major issue for me that would reduce me from my normally mild-tempered self to a rage-driven lunatic: my pantry door and the door to my garage are on opposite side of the halls, and both open in toward the halls (-20 internet points for the guy who came up with that house plan). This product lowered my blood pressure. It's spared the innocent ears of my children from hearing their dad spew off a stream swears. I might even say... why... it's changed my life. It seriously took me 2 minutes a piece to install. 2 minutes, that's all. My life is infinitely better every time I enter from my garage. I have such a happier outlook on life. Where I once felt burning rage when entering my home from my garage, I now feel burning joy.
